The short version

Add the notetaker to a meeting and Vai writes a note with Summary, Key Points, Transcript, meeting details, and a recording link when available. After the call, select View note to open it.

When the notetaker joins a call, Vai records and transcribes the conversation, then writes the meeting up for you automatically. This article covers getting and reading that note.

Before you start

The summary comes from the notetaker, so the meeting needs Vai added before it starts. If you have not set that up, see How do I set up the meeting notetaker?.

Get the summary

  1. Add the notetaker. On a meeting with a video link, open its menu and choose Add notetaker.
  2. Hold the meeting. Vai joins the call, records it, and transcribes what is said.
  3. Open the note. After the call ends and the write-up is ready, click View note on the meeting to read it.
  4. Get next steps. If you want help deciding what to do next, select Next steps with Vai from the meeting.

What the summary includes

The note contains Summary, Key Points, and Transcript, along with the meeting details. It also includes a link to the recording when one is available. If you linked the meeting to a Hub, the note is filed with that project.

Get next steps with Vai

After the transcript is ready, select Next steps with Vai if you want Vai to help turn the conversation into follow-up work. This is a separate action after the automatic meeting note has been created.

Good to know

A complete note depends on Vai capturing the full call, so make sure the notetaker is set to Scheduled before the meeting starts. See What can Vai do? for more ways to work with Vai.
