How do I search my library?
The short version
Use the search bar to search by keyword, color, or image. Type a word to find related files, switch to color search to pick swatches or enter hex codes, or drop in an image to find visually similar files.
Search is the fastest way through a large library. The search bar handles three kinds of search, so you can find a file by what it is called, what color it is, or what it looks like.
Three ways to search
The search bar is labeled Search by keyword, color, or image. That is exactly what it does:
- By keyword. Type a word to find related files across your whole library.
- By color. Switch to color search, then enter a hex code or pick from the swatches. You can combine up to five colors to narrow the results. See How do I search my library by color?.
- By image. Drop an image into search to find files that look visually similar, which is useful when you remember a look but not a keyword.
Good to know
Color search accepts up to five colors at once. If you type a hex code, leave out the leading # or include it, either works, and Visualist will flag an invalid code so you can correct it.
