The short version

Open the bin from your account settings, find the item, and choose `Restore`. General recovery is available on every plan; restoring a Hub requires a plan with Hubs and may open checkout when your active-Hub allowance is full.

When you delete a Hub, folder, note, or file, it does not disappear right away. It goes to the bin, where you can restore it for a window that depends on your plan. After that, it is removed permanently.

Restore an item

  1. Open the bin. Go to your account settings and open Bin.
  2. Find the item. The bin lists what was deleted, where it lived, when it was deleted, and who deleted it.
  3. Click Restore. Open the item’s menu and choose Restore. It returns to its original location.
Good to know

An item can only be restored if the place it lived still exists. If you deleted a folder and then its Hub, restore the Hub first, then the folder. Restoring a Hub brings back everything inside it.

Restoring a Hub applies to plans with Hubs. If your active-Hub allowance is full, Visualist can open checkout before the Hub becomes active again.

Delete for good or empty the bin

To remove a single item now, choose Delete permanently from its menu. To clear everything, click Empty bin. Both actions are final, so an item you delete this way cannot be recovered.

How long items stay before they are removed automatically depends on your plan: 7 days on Free, 30 days on Starter, 6 months on Core, and 1 year on Growth. See What is included in each plan? for the allowances.
